Diana Perry

I started distance running in 1998 when I ran my first Boston Marathon.  My father introduced me to running when I was 8 years old and I will never forget running my first mile with him on the track at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.  I’ve been hooked ever since!

I completed my first Boston Marathon in 1998 and I have completed 11 Boston Marathons. Currently training for my 12th!

What excites me most about running is the tremendous sense of accomplishment and the complete feeling of euphoria I get no matter how tough the course!  I am also very proud that I just completed Disney’s Dopey Challenge last month! 48.6 miles in 4 days.  It was my 18th marathon and my 20 year old daughter’s very first!  I love running with her!  She’s helping me train for Boston right now!

For anyone running Boston for the first time, the best piece of advice I can give is to just enjoy every single mile and treasure any new friendships you make on the course!  I have made life long friends training for and running the Boston Marathon.  It’s truly an unforgettable  experience!
