Ramón R. Ballesteros Aguirre

I’ve been running since I was a teenager but the global pandemic in 2020 motivated me to build a running network and I started training in structured way.

I ran the Boston Marathon for the first time back in 2023 as part of the first Cohort of the Boston Running Collaborative. The 130th. Boston Marathon will mark the my comeback and my second time in Hopkinton.

Running is a symbol of perseverance, of community, and of the belief that no dream is ever too far away, no matter where your starting line is.  I run for visibility — for every person who still feels unseen or unwelcome on the road. Because representation matters — not just at the finish line, but in the training runs, in the conversations, in the moments where someone finally feels safe to be who they are.

Running is not just preparing your body — you’re shaping your spirit. You’re learning to trust the process, to listen to your limits, to lean on those around you. And when race day comes, you realize that no one truly runs alone. Dream Big!
